Coincidentally, Aidan Turner previously filmed at Chavenage House (The Priory in Rivals)
Synopsis
It follows Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham, who have a long-standing rivalry, and their rivalry comes to a head. The same filming location was also used to depict Trenwith House in the 2015 BBC TV adaptation of Poldark.
After 5 minutes of the first episode I was hooked
When I first saw Rivals coming out I squealed with excitement. I was also nervous ~ because I am a fan of the books.
The clothes, the make-up, the music ~ what a soundtrack
Each episode is fast paced, there are no moments where you feel bored or dragged out like so many of these mini-series often are. All the characters are so unique and so well acted, the acting and casting are fantastic.
This series is funny, bold, colorful and nostalgic
I understand the disappointment of Rupert’s ‘look’ changing but it’s really not a big deal, nor does it have any lasting impact in my opinion. It doesn’t disappoint at all and we can take a moment to appreciate David Tennent who once again plays the “bad” guy perfectly.
