For Windows 11, the main part of this announcement was supposed to be the introduction of a major UI change codenamed Sun Valley. As we know, a significant part of the UX changes will be borrowed from the Windows 10X skin, and Windows 10X will not hit the market. Now, as expected, Windows 11 leaks are starting.

What’s new in Windows 11:
– Windows 11 will receive a completely new look. It is obvious that Microsoft needs a good reason to withdraw its previous claims and still abandon Windows 10, introducing a new operating system number. And the new project is perfect for this. The Redmond giant has been preparing an update project codenamed Sun Valley for a long time – this is supposedly what Windows 11 was called. The Sun Valley project has been circulating on the web for a long time – Microsoft regularly revealed details of the new interface style, insiders shared previously unknown information, and popular designers in their circle drew realistic concepts based on all this data.
– Start and system elements will float above the bottom bar. Start is the calling card and face of every latest version of Windows. It is not surprising that in the Windows 11 operating system, developers will transform it again, but not so much functionally, as visually – the Start window will hang above the bottom bar. It must be admitted that this small change makes the system look much fresher. Judging by the information from the network, Microsoft will not radically change the “inside” of this menu – innovations will only affect the appearance of the window itself. The control panel will also float and will have exactly the same appearance as Start. The action center will be combined with control buttons, similar to what some other operating systems have been using for a long time. Almost all mentions of this new menu indicate that it will be an island with controls in one separate panel, notifications in another, and specific elements (e.g. the player) in another separate panel.
– Rectangles will disappear and will be replaced by roundings. In fact, insiders and concept creators are divided on this issue – some are convinced that Microsoft will stick to its tradition and right angles, while others believe that in 2021 Microsoft will follow the purple fashion. The latter more closely corresponds to the definition of “all-new Windows” – floating menus alone are not enough to qualify the new project as truly new. It is expected that the rounding will affect almost everything in the system, from context menus and system panels to all application windows. True, even on this issue, the opinions of the concept creators differ – some draw roundings in all possible interface elements, others connect them at right angles.
– There will be a transparent background with blur everywhere. The island style of windows, the design of corners and the effect of menu levitation are divided on the Internet, but almost everyone agrees on the transparency of the windows. The vast majority of leaks and renders of the projects show transparency and blur in all windows, regardless of whether it is at least the Start menu or the browser. Moreover, these effects occur even when installing the canceled Windows 10X operating system, which Microsoft developed for devices with two screens and weak applications in parallel with the Sun Valley project.
