Two competing brokers cross paths when they’re both called in to help cover up a mistake by a prominent New York official. If you like Clooney and Pitt’s easy screen chemistry, you’ll like this too. count on the fingers of two hands how many films of Pitt and Clooney (in total for both) that are considered good or excellent. In many of their films, they are suitable, playing versions of themselves. It’s the sharp “I’m cool” chatter and polite, amiable style that permeates the Ocean’s movies (but definitely not 8). This is this film. It’s also a loosely structured remake of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, right down to the last wall. The walls (chases, skirmishes) are too long. Too much of a good thing, but here it is definitely too much. There are also many plot twists that you need to swallow in order to allow the story to move forward. Not good. The comedy trick of two fixers/mechanics/cleaners who are not only carbon copies of each other but also work for the same guy is wearing a little thin. As is the odd sentimentality with the boring tradesman the two killers encounter. It started to remind me of “The Scapegoat”. Good actors in a simply “normal” film. But it’s normal, I think. However, the friendship and easy coexistence of these two actors is easy to observe, but I would have liked to see more frank walls regarding their past and training. But… I don’t regret watching it.
